Tardy Policy

  • For a Medium Structure Classroom: The procedures for tardiness will be for students to sign in the tardy sheet at the doorway before going to their seat. That student will then place the excuse in the correct period folder for the teacher to evaluate whether further action is needed to be done to that student for being late. If further action is needed the teacher will follow consequence procedures. That student should come into the classroom as quietly as possible to not disrupt the flow of learning.

  • Low Structure Classroom: The procedures for tardiness will be for students to sign in the tardy sheet at the doorway before going to their seat. They are to place their excuse in the correct period folder for the teacher to evaluate whether further action is needed to be done to that student for being late. The student may come in quietly and can ask other students for materials if needed.

  • High Structure Classroom: The procedure for tardiness will be for students to sign in the tardy sheet at the doorway before going to their seat. The student will then place the excuse in the correct period folder for the teacher to evaluate whether further action is needed to be done to that student for being late. If further action is needed the teacher will follow consequence procedures. That student must come into the classroom quietly and not disrupt the flow of the classroom. If they do, then the teacher will write up that student for a detention, no questions asked. If that student needs any materials, they are to raise their hand, and not disrupt other students from learning.
